Vector Product

The vector product of two vectors A and B, also called the cross product, is written A x B

we draw A and B from a common point shown in the figure below. The two vectors then lie in a plane. The vector product C to be a vector quantity with a direction perpendicular to this plane(that is,perpendicular to both A and B). That is, if

C = A x B, then the magnitude given by








We measure the angle from A toward B and take it always to be the smaller of the two possible angles. This called right-hand rule.Alternatively, the direction of the vector product is the direction a right-hand-thread screw advances.
