1.2 Idealized Models

In everyday converstion we often use the word "model" to mean either a small-scale replica, such as model railroad, or a human body that displays articles of clothing (or the absence therof). In physics a model is a simplified version of a physical system that would be too complicated to analyze in full without the simplifications.
